Winter Bald Eagles are frequently seen along the Rio Grande river in the Rio Grande del Norte National Monument near Taos, New Mexico. The image was captured during a December snow storm while I walked the banks of the river. The snow blanketed the basalt boulders and vegetation providing excellent contrast. The bald eagle really blends in with the background.
