Description
Snow flurry, a bald eagle and me.
Seemingly without a care in the world, this Bald Eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) sat watching both myself and the Rio Grande. I suppose, watching me wondering just what I was up to and the river for it's next tasty treat. Rio Grande del Norte National Monument, New Mexico.
One of my pleasurable winter past times is pursuing the the Bald Eagles of the Rio Grande del Norte National Monument, New Mexico. In New Mexico, migrating Bald Eagles can be found near rivers and lakes, where occasional tall trees provide look-out perches and night roosts. Along the Rio Grande they can easily be seen perched along the river vigilantly watching the water's surface for their next meal. Bald Eagles feed primarily on fish, such as carp and suckers, and occasionally waterfowl.
