Artist's Description
This image was taken as we packed our Peruvian burros for our hike in the Andes with the final destination being Lagoona 69. Laguna 69 is one of the most popular short treks in Peru’s HuascarĂ¡n National Park. Burros were introduced into the Llama's domain from Spain in the early 1500's. Originally the burro was described as small, emaciated and worn out by the demands that the Andes put upon it. Yet it survived. Today the burro can be seen doing it's work, carrying articles of trade, handicrafts and passengers, and pulling crude plows in the high-terraced fields on Peru.
About Britt Runyon
I am a New Mexico based Adventure Riding/Rafting/SCUBA Outdoor Digital Photographer, always on the qui vive for what Nature and humans provide. Capturing an image in my camera is but the first step in an artistic process. That initial bit of information then can pass through countless permutations before being declared complete. The journey from capture to completion is a lawless territory. If photography is an art, then there are no rules.
