The Grand Canyon National Park is one of the most photographed areas in North America, maybe the most. This image was created at approximately mile 40, while on a multi-day trip from Lees Ferry to Pearce Ferry, which is almost 300 miles and 30 days of scenic wonder. The soft light was perfect to capture the perfect sand beach, the crystal clear green water and of course the dory's reflection. We made this brief stop to have lunch and photograph the blooming Datura plant.

I am a New Mexico based Adventure Riding/Rafting/SCUBA Outdoor Digital Photographer, always on the qui vive for what Nature and humans provide. Capturing an image in my camera is but the first step in an artistic process. That initial bit of information then can pass through countless permutations before being declared complete. The journey from capture to completion is a lawless territory. If photography is an art, then there are no rules.
