Artist's Description
This image was taken as I stood on the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge over the Rio Grande as Highway 68 heads West out of Taos, New Mexico. The clouds were big and puffy that day with lots of blue sky. The Rio Grande Gorge Bridge is one of New Mexico's historical landmarks that begs to be photographed. The bridge is a three-span steel continuous-deck-truss structure with a concrete-filled steel-grid deck. The span is 1,280 feet; two 300-foot-long approach spans with a 600-foot-long main center span. In 1966 the American Institute of Steel Construction awarded the bridge Most Beautiful Steel Bridge in the Long Span category. The bridge is located within the Rio Grande del Norte National Monument of New Mexico.
About Britt Runyon
I am a New Mexico based Adventure Riding/Rafting/SCUBA Outdoor Digital Photographer, always on the qui vive for what Nature and humans provide. Capturing an image in my camera is but the first step in an artistic process. That initial bit of information then can pass through countless permutations before being declared complete. The journey from capture to completion is a lawless territory. If photography is an art, then there are no rules.
