Artist's Description

I stumbled upon a couple of rams in the Rio Grande del Norte National Monument, New Mexico, the other day while out on a motorcycle photo excursion to create images of the Fall colors. It's believed that Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep originally crossed over the Bering Strait and entered North America from Siberia. Their population peaked in the millions but by 1900 was reduced to a few thousand due to livestock diseases introduced from Europe and over hunting. Now their on the comeback. Converted this Bighorn Sheep image to black and white. Nice looking beast.

About Britt Runyon

Britt Runyon

I am a New Mexico based Adventure Riding/Rafting/SCUBA Outdoor Digital Photographer, always on the qui vive for what Nature and humans provide. Capturing an image in my camera is but the first step in an artistic process. That initial bit of information then can pass through countless permutations before being declared complete. The journey from capture to completion is a lawless territory. If photography is an art, then there are no rules.
