This image was taken after a short Autumn hike. First across the bridge in the foreground then up a juniper and cactus covered ridge line to an appropriate vista. The snow covered peak in the background is Jicarita Peak of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in Northern New Mexico. The date was October 27 which explains the snow on the mountains and the dark, fading fall colors of the cottonwood trees lining the river bank. This is one of my favorite views of the Rio Grande and it only takes a few minutes of walking get there. Maybe I'll get back there this fall.
Rio Grande, New Mexico.
I am a New Mexico based Adventure Riding/Rafting/SCUBA Outdoor Digital Photographer, always on the qui vive for what Nature and humans provide. Capturing an image in my camera is but the first step in an artistic process. That initial bit of information then can pass through countless permutations before being declared complete. The journey from capture to completion is a lawless territory.
