The Rio Marañon is the primary source of the Amazon and starts in the Peruvian Andes. In the course of rafting 400 miles and 30 days, the Rio Marañon passes through biomes ranging from barren desert to lush rain forest. The Marañon courses north over about 1/3 of the length of the country of Peru in the central Andes.
I am a New Mexico based Adventure Riding/Rafting/SCUBA Outdoor Digital Photographer, always on the qui vive for what Nature and humans provide.
