Artist's Description

San Francisco De Asis was built between 1772 and 1816. This image was taken in the Spring of 2013, that's 200 years later. Just south of the town of Taos, New Mexico, in the historical plaza of Ranchos de Taos, lies this gem of a historical Spanish Mission. The structure is made of adobe as many of the Historical Spanish Missions of New Mexico are. It was at the center of the Ranchos de Taos plaza which the Spanish used as fortification and protection against the Comanche attackers.

About Britt Runyon

Britt Runyon

I am a New Mexico based Adventure Riding/Rafting/SCUBA Outdoor Digital Photographer, always on the qui vive for what Nature and humans provide. Capturing an image in my camera is but the first step in an artistic process. That initial bit of information then can pass through countless permutations before being declared complete. The journey from capture to completion is a lawless territory.
