Artist's Description
Autumn in the Rio Grande del Norte National Monument of New Mexico never disappoints. This particular autumn provided a visual feast for all to see. This image was captured as I explored the Orilla Verde section of monument following a our first winter storm of the 2018-19 season. The recreation area is nestled along the banks of the Rio Grande and within the steep walls of the Rio Grande Gorge. The elevation along the river is 6,100 feet and the gorge rises more than 800 feet from the river to the Gorge rim. Have you spotted the Great Blue Heron in the image yet?
About Britt Runyon
I am a New Mexico based Adventure Riding/Rafting/SCUBA Outdoor Digital Photographer, always on the qui vive for what Nature and humans provide. Capturing an image in my camera is but the first step in an artistic process. That initial bit of information then can pass through countless permutations before being declared complete. The journey from capture to completion is a lawless territory.
