In the first light of a cold winter morning at the Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge, New Mexico, I spotted this frosty Great Blue Heron seemingly huddled against the low temps. Herons are but one example of the many birds that can be found at The Bosque. While there is always something to see, the best time is between November to January, when the number of birds is at it's greatest. Thanks for looking.
